You have created sales items with variants, linked them to options, and now you want to know how to take these sales items as an order in the cash register? In this How-To, we will show you an example of the order process.
Requirements
- You have created sales items with variants
- You have linked these sales items to options
Take a Sales Item Variant with an Option as an Order
- In the POS menu, open Sales > Register.
- Tap on the sales item you want to take as an order. In this example, we select the cappuccino.
⮕ The Select Variant window opens.
- Select the desired variant.
⮕ The Choose Options window opens.
- Tap on the option you want. In this example, we select almond milk.
- Tap [Add].
⮕ The sales item is added to the basket and can now be checked out.
Take a Sales Item Variant with Multiple Option Groups as an Order
You can link a sales item to multiple option groups. In our example, the cappuccino is not only linked to the Milk option group, but also to the Roasting option group.
- In the POS menu, open Sales > Register.
- Tap on the sales item you want to take as an order. In this example, we select the cappuccino.
⮕ The Select Variant window opens.
- Tap on the desired variant.
⮕ The Choose Options window opens.
- In the Select Options window, tap on the desired option in the Roast tab (name of the first option group), e.g. Light Roast.
When you create an option group, you specify whether the selection of an option is required. If you specify that the selection of an option is required, you will not be able to add the sales item to the basket until you select an option.
- Switch to the tab of the next option group. In our example, this tab is Milk.
- Select an option.
- Tap [Add].
⮕ The sales item with the two options is added to the basket and can now be checked out.
