What do I do if there is a cash shortfall or overhang?

This How-To describes new functions and workflows that are only available in enforePOS 2. This version is exclusively available to customers participating in the enforePOS 2 Early Access program.

You want to close your location business day, but a cash shortfall or overhang is preventing you from doing so? In this case, the difference must be compensated. To do this, open Accounting in the POS menu, tap on Current Business Day, swipe from right to left on the cash register or on the staff member with the shortfall or overhang and then tap on . There are various ways how to proceed:

• Has your staff member forgotten to enter a cash withdrawal (e.g. for errands) in enforePOS? In this case, you can record this withdrawal retrospectively.
• If you want to post the shortfall or overhang as such, you can make a reconciliation transaction. Please note that this may have tax disadvantages for you.
• Has a staff member possibly miscounted the cash? Then you can recount the cash. The amount of cash in the cash register may then be back in line with the expected amount.
