Do you want to display your menu in "kiosk" mode (no closing or switching to other apps possible) on a tablet?  

With a few settings on your tablet, you can view the menu in standalone mode on the tablet.

Here we show you how to set up your digital menu in kiosk mode on an iOS device, e.g. on an iPad.

Create a Bookmark on the Home Screen

First, bookmark your digital menu on the home screen. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Safari browser and load your digital menu. IMG_7B851F1600AC-1.jpeg
  2. Tap on screenshot_2020-12-16_um_09_32_22.png (the Share icon).
  3. Select the menu field Add to Home Screen. IMG_0796.PNG
  4. Adjust the name of the bookmark if necessary and tap on [Add]. ⮕ You will now find the new bookmark on your home screen.
  5. Tap on the newly created bookmark.
    ⮕ Your menu opens in standalone mode.

Activate the Kiosk Mode

All you have left to do now is to prevent your customers from closing the app or switching to another app on the iPad.

  1. Open the Settings on your iPad.
  2. Select the Operating Aids menu item.
  3. Then tap on Guided Access. IMG_0790.jpg
  4. Enable the Guided Access option.
  5. Tap on Code Settings.
  6. To set a code, tap on Set Code for Guided Access.
  7. Enter a code, and then re-enter it. IMG_0792.jpg

Start Session in Kiosk Mode

To launch the menu in kiosk mode, do the following:

  1. Open your menu bookmark on the home screen.
  2. Press the home button three times.
    ⮕ The Guided Access view opens.
  3. Tap on [Start].
    ⮕ The screen is locked and your customers only have access to your digital menu.

End Session in Kiosk Mode

  1. To exit the kiosk mode, click the home button three times again.
  2. Enter the code you set earlier.
    ⮕ You have successfully ended the session in kiosk mode.
