Change Payment Method during Checkout

This How-To describes new functions and workflows that are only available in enforePOS 2. This version is exclusively available to customers participating in the enforePOS 2 Early Access program.

You started the payment process and accidentally selected the wrong payment method? In enforePOS you can change the payment method during the payment process. You will learn how to do that in this How-To.

This How-To describes the process for changing a cash payment to an invoice payment. The process differs slightly depending on the selected payment method.

1. Tap on a sales item in the cash register to load it into the basket.
2. Tap on [Checkout Order].⮕ The Payment Method window opens.

• Exact Cash Amount

  1. Select a payment method. In our example, we select the appropriate amount in the Cash Payment area.⮕ The Receipt window opens. 
  2. Tap on to cancel the payment. ⮕ The Cancel the payment process window opens.
  3. Choose a reason for the cancelation. In our example we select Customer wants a different payment method.
  4. Activate the Print payout receipt option if you want to print a cancelation receipt. 
  5. Tap on [Cancel payment].
  6. Tap on [Pay out amount] in the Cash payout window.

     You can also make the refund at a later date. To do this, first close the Cash payout window with . Then close the Cancel the payment process window with and then confirm the message about the created correction invoice. The canceled refund appears as a canceled payment process in the active orders under On Hold.

  7. In the Receipt window, select optionally how to issue the payout receipt.
  8. Tap on [Complete]. ⮕ You will be taken back to the basket view in the cash register.
  9. Tap on [Checkout Order] to restart the payment process.⮕ You will be taken back to the start of the payment process.

• Not Exact Cash Amount

  1. Select a payment method. In our example, we select a cash amount greater than the due amount in the Cash Payment area.
  2. Tap on [Change Payment Method].⮕ The Cancel Payment window opens.
  3. Choose a reason for canceling the payment. In our example we select Customer wants a different payment method.
  4. Tap on [Cancel Payment].⮕ You will be taken back to the start of the payment process.

1. In the Payment Method window, select the payment method you would like to use. In our example, we select Pay Later.
2. Optionally select a different payment term and/or add an invoice address.
3. Tap on [Next].
4. Specify how the receipt should be issued. In our example, we choose Printout.
5. Tap on [Complete].⮕ You have completed the payment process.
