Continue Shift and Reopen Cash Register

This How-To describes new functions and workflows that are only available in enforePOS 2. This version is exclusively available to customers participating in the enforePOS 2 Early Access program.

If you're closing your business for the day, but there are still open orders at the POS location, you can process those orders. To do this, you will need to continue your shift and reopen your cash register. In this How-To, we will walk you through the steps.

Initial scenario: You close the location business day and the Open Orders and Settlements window with the open orders is automatically displayed.

You can resume and reopen your shift and cash register from either the Open Orders and Settlements window or the Current Business Day overview.

• Open Orders and Settlements Window

  1. Tap on [Register].

     You can put all open orders on hold at once using the icon.

  2. Tap on [Confirm].⮕ Your shift has been reopened.
  3. Tap on [Confirm].⮕ The business day of your cash register has been reopened. You can now process the released open orders. You will learn how to do that in this How-To.

     After you have processed your open orders, go to Accounting in the POS menu under Accounting to complete your shift and your business day.

• Current Business Day Overview

  1. Tap on .

     You can put all open orders on hold at once using the icon.

  2. In the Current Business Day area, swipe from right to left on your shift.
  3. Tap on .
  4. Tap on your shift.
  5. Tap on [Continue Shift].⮕ You have restarted your shift.
  6. Swipe from right to left on the cash register you want to reopen.
  7. Tap on .
  8. Tap on your cash register.
  9. Tap on [Reopen].⮕ You have reopened your cash register. You can now process the released open orders. We explain how to do this in this How-To.

     After you have processed your open orders, go to Accounting in the POS menu under Accounting to complete your shift and your business day.
