Cash overhangs can occur, for example, if you deposit change in your cash register at the start of the day (e.g. €200), but do not post a change deposit in the form of a cash deposit in enforePOS. This leads to the fact that you have more cash in your cash drawer (e.g. €950) than the amount indicated by enforePOS (e.g. €750 ) when counting the cash at the end of the day (daily revenue + change).
What can you do to reconcile the cash overhang?
Post a subsequent cash deposit for the unrecorded amount (in our example, the €200 change deposited). Now the amount in your cash drawer matches the amount in enforePOS again.
Cash shortages can occur when you take money out of your cash drawer (for example, to run errands) without recording the cash withdrawal in enforePOS.
What can you do to reconcile the cash shortfall?
Record a subsequent cash withdrawal in the amount of the cash withdrawn. Now the amount in your cash drawer matches the amount in enforePOS again.
