In this How-To, you will learn how to create sales item features. You can assign different values to features to make it easier to define different sales items variants.
In order to sell your sales item in different variants, you have to create prices for the variant and save them. You can create sales items features either directly on a sales item or via the overview and assign them to a sales item later. Once created, features can be used for any sales item with variants that you create.
You can add features only to sales items with variants. For sales items without variants, you have the possibility to create a price variant. You will discover here how to do it.
Select the sales item you want to add features to. In our example, we want to create the variants Simple and Double for the sales item Espresso. ⮕ The sales item overview page opens.
Switch to the Variants tab.
Tap on [+ Variant Definition].
Enter the feature name you want to give to the variant. In our example, we are creating the feature Size. If you have already created features, you can select them here and link them to your sales item.
Tap on or Create New Feature. ⮕ The Create feature window opens.
Choose what type of feature it is. In this example, we pick the Size type.
In the Unit step, select a unit. In our example, we choose Abstract.
In the Values step, tap on [+ Add Abstract Value].
Insert a label for the first value, such as simple and confirm with .
Repeat the step for all other variants. ⮕ The values are displayed one below the other.
When all values have been created, confirm with [Save]. ⮕ The features can be seen in the sales item overview.
Create Sales Item Features in the Overview
You also have the possibility to create sales item features in the Features overview. To do so, proceed as follows:
From the POS menu, open Sales > Sales Items.
Open the Features overview.
Tap [+ Create feature] or in the header. ⮕ The Create feature window or the input area (depending on the selection) in which you can assign the feature name opens.
Enter the name of the new feature (in our example Size).
Confirm your entry with or tap on [Confirm].⮕ The Create feature window opens.
Follow the steps 7 - 12 from section Create Sales Items in the Overview. ⮕ The feature is displayed in the overview Features, tab Features with the created values.
If you wish to use the feature in order to define variants for a sales item, you must link the feature to the sales items in question. To do so, follow the steps 1-5 in the section Create Feature on a Sales Item and choose an existing feature.
