Count Cash Balance

In this How-To, you will learn how to count and save the cash balance in your cash drawer.

Count Cash Balance

You can check and count the cash balance in your cash drawer at any time.

  1. From the POS menu, open Sales > Accounting.
  2. Make sure that the Current Business Day of your device is selected in the left pane.
  3. Tap [Count Cash].1_EN.png ⮕ The Count Cash window opens.2_EN.png
  4. Enter the number of coins counted.

    To enter the number, either enter the number into the field below the coin or increase or decrease the number with + or -. Alternatively, just tap the coin icon. The number increases with every click.

  5. Switch to the Bills tab.
  6. Enter the number of bills counted.4_EN.png

    If you want to correct the count, tap Delete.svg behind Coins or Bills to delete the entire count of the coins or bills. If you only want to delete the count of individual coins or bills, swipe the entry from right to left.

  7. Tap on [Save].
    ⮕ A counting protocol has been created. You can view this counting protocol under Current Business Day in the Cash Drawer tab.5_EN.png

Cash Count at the Close of the Business Day

If the cash count is made during the closing of the Business Day, the count can only be saved when the amount is balanced.

  1. From the POS menu, open Sales > Accounting.
  2. Make sure that the Current Business Day of your device is selected in the left pane.
  3. Tap on [Close Business Day].6_EN.png
  4. Count your cash. You can find out how to do this in the section Count Cash Balance.
  5. Tap [End] when you have finished your count.
  6. If there is a shortfall or overhang in the cash register, you will be notified accordingly.7_EN.png 8_EN.png

    Note that shortfalls and overhangs are taxed differently!

  7. In the example we tap [No].
  8. Tap [Save].9_EN.png⮕ The closing summary is displayed. You have the possibility to book a cash withdrawal.
  9. Optional: Tap Cash Drawing.10_EN.png ⮕ The Cash Drawing window opens.
  10. Enter the amount of cash you are withdrawing.
  11. Tap [Next].11_EN.png
  12. Select the type of cash drawing.

  13. Make the appropriate entries and complete the cash withdrawal.
    ⮕ The cash withdrawal has been booked and appears in the Cash Drawer tab of the Z report as Cash withdrawals upon completion.13_EN.png
