Add Variants to a Variant Group

This How-To describes new functions and workflows that are only available in enforePOS 2. This version is exclusively available to customers participating in the enforePOS 2 Early Access program.

In enforePOS you create sales items without variants (Inventory, Build to Order, Voucher or Virtual Product) that you can add as variants to a variant group. If you have not yet created the variant as a sales item, you can add a new sales item. If you have already created the variant as a sales item, you can link the existing sales item.

Requirements

To add variants to your variant group, do the following:

  1. Open Sales Items in the POS menu.
  2. Tap on Variant group.
  3. Select the variant group to which you want to add variants.

Create New Sales Item

In our example, we want to offer jeans in different sizes and colors. We have already created the Jeans variant group.

Below, we add a new sales item as a variant to the Jeans variant group. To do this, we first create the sales item Jeans 36 Blue, to which we then add the feature Size with the feature value 36 and the feature Color with the feature value Blue.

  1. Tap on [New Sales Item] in the variant group.

Features are properties that distinguish variants of a sales item. This allows for a more targeted search of variants. Such features can be, for example, size or color.

  8. Enter a name for the feature in the Add feature... field. In our example we enter Jeans Size.

  9. If the feature does not exist, tap Create new Feature.

This turns the removed variant into a sales item again. To learn how to do this, see the How-To Remove Variants from a Variant Group.

  4. Tap on a variant to add features to the variant.
17_EN.png ⮕ The detailed view of the variant opens.
  5. Tap on the Features tab.
  6. Tap on [+ Feature].
    18_EN.png
  7. Enter a name for the feature in the Enter Feature Name field. In this case we enter Size.

  8. Add the feature to the variant. To do this, follow steps 9-14 (if you are creating a new feature) or steps 15-18 (if you are adding an already created feature) in the Create New Sales Item section.
In our example, we have assigned the feature Size with the feature value L to the variant Cappuccino Large.
