Sales Items without options and variants are sales items created beforehand that are available in only one version. The customer cannot buy them modified. In this How-To, we will show you how to create such sales items. If you are not sure whether the sales items offer options or variants, take another look at the explanations in the overview.
In this example, we use a Build to Order sales item. The process of creating a sales item differs only when selecting the type of the sales item, otherwise, it is identical for all sales items.
From the POS menu, open Sales > Sales Items.
Tap on in the upper right corner to add a new sales item without variants.
Tap on Sales Item.
⮕ The Define Type of Sales Item window opens.
Choose what kind of sales item you want to create.
In the next window, enter the appropriate information:
Name: Enter the name of the sales item here.
Brand: Here you can either select an already created brand or add a new one.
Article ID: You can optionally assign an article number for internal identification. If you want to look for it at the cash register, you can’t use letters, only numbers.
EAN: You can optionally add an EAN code here to identify items with a barcode scanner.
You can also link the sales item to an assembly location by taping on [+ Assembly locations]. If you have created several assembly locations (e.g. kitchen and bar), you can specify here where the sales item is manufactured. ⮕ Then the Assembly locations field appears in the window. There you can add an assembly location by tapping on the field and selecting the respective assembly location.
Finish entering the data in this window with [Next].
In the next window, enter the appropriate information:
Sales Unit: Specify in which unit the item is sold. By default, pcs is selected for number/piece. After tapping pcs, mass, length, volume, time and digital information are also available for selection as units.
Price: Enter the selling price for one unit and confirm the input with . If the item is free, you must explicitly enter 0.
Tap on the displayed tax rate to specify whether the price is gross and which tax rate should be applied to the sales item.
Sales Category: Optionally, you can assign the sales item to a sales category. Confirm your input with at the end of the line.
We suggest defining a sales category at this point. This input can help you to make the display at the cash register clearer. You can find more info here.
Finish entering the data in this window with [Next].
Fill in the fields in the next window:
Sales Type: Indicate in this field whether the sales item is available for over the counter, pickup or delivery.
Sales Channels: If you have multiple stores or an online presence, you can indicate here at which locations the sales item is available.
Available for sale: This option is enabled by default. If the sales item is not available for sale, tap on the green check mark to deactivate it.
Tap on [Create]. ⮕ The sales item without variant and options was created successfully. You can find the created sales item in enforePOS under Sales > Sales Items. Afterwards, you can specify more information about the sales item or edit information already specified. You can find out how to do that here.
