You can access the sales categories in the POS menu via Sales > Sales Categories.
Sales Categories allow you to sort your sales items and services by product groups.
Sales categories don't have to be assigned, but they do make your day-to-day work a lot easier, especially if you have more than one register or more than one store.
By assigning a sales category to each sales item, you can use dynamic cash register layouts to control exactly which products are available at each cash register. As your inventory changes over time, new sales items will automatically appear on all registers using the dynamic cash register layout.
Important: if you want to work with sales categories, consider which categories are appropriate for your business before you create the first sales item.
