With the help of sales categories, you can sort your range of products and services by product groups. In this how-to, you'll learn how to create sales categories, how to add resources to sales categories, and how you can then filter for your sales categories in the checkout and/or on your online presence.
Create Main Sales Category
From the POS menu , open Sales > Sales Categories. ⮕ The Sales Categories view opens.
Tap on [+ Add Main Sales Category]. ⮕ The Create Main Sales Category window opens.
In the Add Name... field, enter the name of the sales category.
In the Icon field, select an icon.
Add a short description and/or a description as needed.
Tap on . ⮕ You have created a new main sales category. All main sales categories created are clearly presented in the Main sales category alphabetical list.
Create Subcategory
To add a sales category or multiple sub-categories, do the following:
Next to the sales category, tap on . ⮕ The Add Subcategory window opens.
In the Add name... field, enter the name of the sales category.
In the Icon field, select an icon.
Add a short description and/or a description as needed.
Tap on . ⮕ You have created a new subcategory for the higher-level sales category.
If necessary, create another subcategory (further level) for the existing subcategory.
Add Resources to Sales Categories
Have you already created sales items or services? Then you can now assign them to sales categories. Proceed as follows:
Tap the sales category you'd like to add resources to. In our example we choose the sales category Shampoo.
Tap on [+ Add Resource to [sales category name]]. ⮕ The selection list of available resources opens.
Select the resource you want. ⮕ The selected resource is assigned to the sales category.
Overview in Columns
With the column view, you can view all subcategories and resources that belong to a sales category at the same time.
To switch to the column view, proceed as follows:
Tap on . ⮕ The view changes to the column view.
Tap on a sales category to see its subcategories and resources. ⮕ The subcategories are shown in the middle column and the resources are shown in the right column.
Filter by Sales Categories
If you work with the category browser, you can filter by main sales categories and subcategories in the checkout and on your online presence. You can find out how to do this in the following section.
You have created a main sales category with at least one sub-category and added the corresponding products
View in the cash register
In the POS menu, open Sales > Register.
Tap on the main sales category whose subcategories and sales items you want to view.
Tap on a sub-category to see the next level of sub-categories and products. The following example shows 2 levels (1 main sales category and 1 subcategory level):
