In this How-To, you will learn about the settings for your cash register in the This Device overview in the General part.
The settings differ depending on whether you are using the Gastro register type or the Sales register type.
For a better overview, the settings are listed under the Sales Type, Dining Options, Workflow, Register Configuration, Receipt and Gastro areas.
The TSE part is only relevant for Germany and can otherwise be considered irrelevant.
The following sales types, which you set up initially for your business in the Sales Channel, are available in enforePOS:
Your selected sales types are displayed in the Sales Type section.
If you no longer offer a sales type, tap on the checkmark to deactivate the sales type.
Here you set a standard sales type for your cash register. As a result, all the settings you need will be displayed in the cash register. Only the sales types you have activated in the Sales Type area can be selected.
The Take Away area in the This Device overview is only visible if the Take Away dining option has been activated in the General overview.
Activate this option if you offer both Inhouse and Take Away sales at your POS location. If this option is activated, you can use the Reduced Tax (Take Away) setting and sell sales items with 7% VAT. You can find out how to change the dining option of an order here.
Depending on which default you have set as the dining option under Sales > Sales Settings, the view in your cash register differs.
If you work with a floor plan and place your orders directly on tables, the order type Inhouse is automatically used, regardless of the default settings. You can change the dining option for each sales item or for the entire order as described in this How-To.
If this option is activated, enforePOS always displays the last used overview of Active Orders when you open the Register module.
If this option is not enabled, enforePOS will always show the cash register when you open the Register module, so you can immediately create a new order.
To access the Orders, Settlements, Floor Plan, Resources and Reservations overviews:
With the Complex Workflow option you can expand the settings for your Gastro register. This means that when you activate this option, the Gastro section and its options will be displayed.
When you activate the option End Reservation on checkout, your reservations will end automatically on checkout. This way you don't have to manually check out the reservation after the checkout in the cash register.
Check this option if you want to allow custom discounts to be entered in the cash register.
Activate this option if you want to display the editor in the context menu of an ordered sales item. This allows you to enter special requests for an order.
Activate this option if you want to manage orders by tags.
You can manage tags directly in your cash register. Tags can be, for example, discount promotions that you assign to an order using the [Tags] button. You can also assign multiple tags.
When multiple identical Build to Order sales items are ordered, such as multiple main dishes with the same side dishes, they are not only merged in the cash register, but also on the assembly slips, cash register receipts, and invoices.
If you activate this function, the Receipt window cannot be closed at the end of the checkout process until the receipt has been issued by SMS, by email or as a printout. If you prefer to issue receipts to your customers via QR code, deactivate this function.
If you activate this function, the Print option is preselected in the Receipt window at the end of the checkout process.
In the example, the print option is preselected and the Receipt window can be closed by tapping [Complete].
The following settings are only visible if the Complex workflows option in the Workflow area is activated or if the Gastro register type is selected.
Activate this option if you want to assign orders to seats. This way you can manage individual orders per seat and table. You can find detailed information about this in the How-To Place Orders on Tables.
If you have chosen this setting, you can take your orders by courses.
Tap on a course in the cash register to select it.
Once an order is sent to the assembly location, the course is complete and no more orders can be added to that course.
If this option is activated, you must mark each dish or drink as served, otherwise the order cannot be checked out. If you are working with courses, tap after a guest has received their dish. In the following tabs, we will show you the process in the cash register if you have activated this option.
Requirements
Until the sales item is marked as served, the sales item will be highlighted in orange. If you are working with seats, the background color of the seat will be dark gray.
