In this How-To, you will learn which settings you can make under Device Usage in your sales settings. In order to use the connected devices with all the features, you need to add all the external devices with your Business Account in the parent settings beforehand.
Add your devices connected to the Business Account in the Payment, Printers, Other and Screen Lock sections.
Requirements
The external devices are connected to your cash register via cable or Wi-Fi
You can access the sales settings in the POS menu via Sales > Sales Settings.
Payment Area
Payment Terminal
In the payment terminal area, you can, for example, connect your enforePayPad+ or another payment terminal to your cash register.
Requirements
You have switched on your payment terminal
You can only connect one enforePayPad+ at a time to a cash register or device. If you have added multiple enforePayPad+ to your Business Account, you can assign one enforePayPad+ to each cash register.
To connect your payment terminal to the cash register, tap directly on Select payment terminal.... ⮕ The Select Payment Terminal window opens. All payment terminals connected so far are listed.
Tap on the payment terminal you want to connect to this cash register.
Confirm your selection by tapping on [Complete]. ⮕ You have successfully connected your payment terminal to the cash register.
Cash Drawer
Requirements
You have connected your cash drawer to your cash register via cable. Depending on the model, you connect the cash drawer via USB cable or to the cash drawer port (RJ-11/RJ-12) on the bottom of the enforeDasher.
You can only link one cash drawer to an enforeDasher at a time. Find out which cash drawer is compatible with our enfore devices here.
Tap in the Select cash drawer... input field to add a cash drawer. ⮕ The Select cash drawer window opens. All connected cash drawers are listed.
Select the desired cash drawer. Via [+] you can add an additional cash drawer to your Business Account.
Tap [Complete]. ⮕ You have successfully connected your cash drawer to the cash register.
Tap directly in the input field on Select Receipt Printer.... to link the external receipt printer to the cash register. ⮕ The Select receipt printer field opens. All receipt printers connected so far are listed.
Select the receipt printer in order to, for example, print an assembly slip at the assembly location. ⮕ You have successfully connected your receipt printer to the cash register.
Page printer
Requirements
You have connected your printer via USB or LAN cable
Your printer is ready
enforePOS supports a wide range of HP and EPSON page printers. You can find out which external devices are compatible here.
If you use enforePOS on your Mac or Windows client, you can also print documents with a page printer. However, you do not add the page printer in enforePOS, but in the device manager on your Windows / Mac laptop.
Tap on Select Page Printer.... to link the external page printer to the cash register. ⮕ The Select Page Printer window opens. All page printers connected so far are listed.
Select the printer.
Confirm your choice by tapping on [Complete]. ⮕ You have successfully connected your page printer to your cash register.
Pickup Slip Printer
Requirements
You have connected your printer to your cash register
You have switched on your printer
Tap on Select Pickup Slip Printer... to link the external receipt printer to the cash register or to use the enforeDasher as a pickup slip printer. ⮕ The Select Pickup Slip Printer window opens.
Select the desired pickup slip printer to have an assembly slip printed at the assembly location, for example. Via the [+] symbol you can add an additional receipt printer to your Business Account. Learn more here.
Confirm your choice by tapping on [Complete]. ⮕ You have successfully connected your pickup slip printer to your cash register.
Assembly Slip Printer
This function is primarily for when you want to use the printer in the enforeDasher as a printer for your production lists. This is useful if, for example, you do not have an extra assembly location at your POS location where a receipt printer for assembly slips is located, but you want to work with assembly slips.
Tap on Select Assembly Slip Printer.... to link the external printer to the cash register. ⮕ The Select Assembly Slip Printer window opens. All printers connected so far are listed.
Select the printer you want to use as an assembly slip printer.
Confirm your choice by tapping on [Complete]. ⮕ You have successfully connected your assembly slip printer to your cash register.
If you have added the assembly slip printer, two additional fields with further setting options will be displayed. By default, both fields are enabled.
If you only need an assembly slip for Build to Order sales items, deactivate the Print Assembly Slip option. The field Only for Build To Order Items must remain checked.
If you deactivate the Only for Build To Order Items option, but activate the Print Assembly Slip option, an assembly slip will be printed each time an order is placed. If you deactivate both options, the assembly slip will not be printed.
The barcode scanner is installed and ready for operation
Tap on Select Product Barcode Scanner.... to link the barcode scanner to the cash register. ⮕ The Select Product Barcode Scanner window opens. All barcode scanners connected so far are listed.
Select a barcode scanner.
Confirm your selection by tapping [Complete].⮕ You have successfully connected your product barcode scanner to your cash register.
Checkout Scale
Requirements
You have connected the checkout scale to your cash register
You have switched on the checkout scale
Tap on Select Checkout Scale... to link the checkout scale to the cash register. ⮕ The Select Checkout Scale window opens. All connected checkout scales so far are listed.
Select the desired checkout scale.
Confirm your choice by tapping on [Complete]. ⮕ You have successfully connected your checkout scale to your cash register.
Screen Lock
In the Screen Lock section you can activate the automatic screen lock. You can specify here after which time period you want to automatically lock your cash register.
If you activate the Password required if no PIN option, staff members will be asked for their PIN to unlock the screen if they have already set a PIN. If they have not set a staff member PIN, they will be asked for their password.
With Automatically After you also define after which time period the screen will be locked automatically.
You can disable the automatic screen lock by selecting the Manually option in the Automatically After field.
