When do you need to register a refund? A perfect example of this is the deposit: If you sell returnable bottled beverages and your clients want to get their deposit back, you can register the refund of the deposit that you have created as a sales item by creating a negative line item. You can then refund the deposit either in cash or with an existing gift card. How to do it? Find out in this How-To.
Then tap on the sales item whose amount is to be refunded. ⮕ The sales item appears with a negative amount in the cash register overview:
Tap on . ⮕ The Type of Refund window opens.
Choose how you want to refund the amount.
Cash Refund
If you want to refund the deposit in cash, tap on Cash Refund. ⮕ The Cash Refund window opens.
Tap on Next to refund the amount.⮕ The Receipt window opens.
Select here how you want to issue the receipt. You can send the receipt by SMS or by email or print it out. Alternatively, you can print the receipt at a later time. In this example, we want to print the receipt and therefore tap on the Printout option. ⮕ You have successfully paid out the refund in cash.
Existing Gift Card
Requirements
Your customer has a gift card that is still active
If you want to add the refund to an existing gift card, tap Existing Gift Card. ⮕ The Scan or enter Barcode window opens.
Either scan the barcode from the gift card or enter the barcode by tapping on [Add Barcode].
Tap on [Next].⮕ The Receipt window opens.
Select here how you want to issue the receipt. You can send the receipt by SMS or by email or print it out. Alternatively, you can print the receipt at a later time. In this example, we want to print the receipt and therefore tap on the Printout option. ⮕ You have successfully added the refund to the existing gift card.
